Green Alveopora — WYSIWYG
The Green Alveopora is a close cousin of the Goniopora that brings a similarly spectacular flowing polyp display to the reef aquarium. Often called the "Daisy Coral" for its flower-like polyp appearance, Alveopora features long, graceful tentacles with 12 tentacles per polyp (compared to Goniopora's 24), giving it a slightly more open, airy appearance. The Green morph glows with vivid lime to emerald green coloration that fluoresces brilliantly under blue lighting.
Alveopora are generally considered slightly hardier than Goniopora, making them a great stepping stone for reefers who want the dramatic flowing polyp look without the full challenge of Goniopora care. They're a stunning display coral that rewards attentive feeding and stable water parameters.
Care Requirements
- Lighting: Moderate (75–200 PAR)
- Flow: Low to moderate, gentle indirect flow
- Placement: Lower rockwork or sandbed
- Feeding: Regular target feeding with phytoplankton and zooplankton recommended
